Spring Mantle

I think Beth is a mind reader (or maybe she read my blog-that would be pretty cool)

because she decided to have her seasonal mantle party this week.

Of course that was just the kick in the pants I needed to get my post done.

You all remember I have two mantles, this post is going to be the upstairs mantle.

I'll try to move the laundry and get some pictures of the downstairs mantle tomorrow. This is going to be short and sweet so don't blink!

I used these bunnies on the downstairs mantle last year.

For spring/Easter 2011 I just changed out their bows.

Remember I told you about the woman with the velvet ribbon?

Don't know that story? (it is one of my favorite "scary stories") Click here. Here they are a year ago (and no their heads didn't fall off when I changed the ribbon):

One more 2011 mantle shot:

Here are a few more touches of Easter I have around:

I got the fabu-lo-so idea to twinify some eggs from Domestically Speaking and boy did I do some twining!

The lighter colored egg is from last year. I bought that twine at Dollar Tree. This year I found jute at Hobby Lobby and twined eggs of all sizes.

Beside my little twined lovelies is my other obsession-buttons. That is an egg made out of buttons, by the way.

(Just when you thought I'd run out-bwah hahahaha!)

If you are lost on the joke click here then here then know that I also did Christmas trees but I spared you from that one. Finally, another twiny vignette:

Thanks for stopping by!

I'm going to get another spring post up, I have some before and after things to post and then I have a fun, frivilous post about my spring break using my new favorite toy!

Leggo My Eggos!

Okay, so that is a little bit of a stretch. I had another idea to link eggs to the letter L, but it didn't work out the way I planned. (Legumes means beans-or something like that-not eggs).

Anyhoo. Eggs are the topic of my second installment for "L" week:

I love to decorate for the holidays. I love sparkly things. For some reason this year, sparkly eggs and I didn't jive. I just didn't feel like all my cute, pastel, sparkly eggs were what I wanted out this year. So I came up with a different approach. I borrowed an idea from Maryann at Domestically Speaking and made my own "twinefied" eggs. I added my own embellishment to a few (you will see in a minute).

I also got some cute napkins and decoupaged some. Oh, also I have made several cloches. Here are some of the Easter decorations around my house:

This cloche is simply a white plate with a votive candle holder on top (the kind you stick in a candle sconce.) Notice on this twine egg, I added a little polka dot ribbon.
( I love some polka dots!!)

Next up is my dining room table:

I have a lot of silver accents in here. You can get a glimpse of my decoupaged eggs. (And there is Scarlett in the background.)

Little Bunny Foo Foo under glass.
(You know there was ACTUALLY a question about Little Bunny Foo Foo at the Regional Governor's Cup competition last weekend?)

Here is a closer shot of the decoupaged eggs.

I love this little silver bunny sitting under a votive holder. I LOVE the shape of the glass and it is perfect for a little "happy." Can you see that cute top?? It is a perfect tiny cloche!

Downstairs, I allowed myself to put out some of my pastel, sparkly eggs just because, well just because I really like them and it was difficult to give them up!
Here is my hearth on my fireplace:

That is a concrete bunny I normally have outside, but he has been in the garage for the winter, so I thought I would park him here for a little while.
Here is a closer shot of him, and the sparkly eggs:

I am pretty pleased with the pictures I have this post and I have Donna at Funky Junk to that for that. Go check this post for tips on taking better pictures. She promised Step #1 would make a difference and I think she is right! Thanks Donna!

I am going to be linking up some places this weekend. Come by and check them out. I kid you not when I say you will find some great ideas!!
